High Resolution Melting (HRM) is a screening technique, which allows the user to determine if the PCR fragment contains a variant or not based upon the dissociation of double-stranded DNA in the presence of an intercalating dye as the temperature increases
KIT mutation expression is found in approximately 80% of cases
RUNX1 cytogenetic mutation is commonly associated with KIT mutation - treatments include chemotherapy as well as inhibitors such as Dasatinib and Radotinib
